Regardless of what you want to achieve and what you are looking for whether it is something personal or professional if you consult articles or books written by both expects and non experts their advice boils down to the following:

Enough sleep

Each individual has its own needs but generally 6 to 8 hours should be the range you should be aiming for. Keep in mind that of course some periods will require you to sleep less, for example, when you have an important project to finish and upcoming deadline. However, prolonged periods of fewer than 6 hours a night can lead to exhaustion and impair your productivity. I have been there and done that and it is true.

Healthy diet

Now I am not going to elaborate on that because the topic is controversial. This is a personal choice and different authors have different opinions what is healthy and what is not. From my personal experience if you eat moderate amounts of everything it won’t harm you and you won’t end up binging on “forbidden” things. Within this section I will include keeping hydrated, drinking at least the minimum amount of water needed for your body ( if you do not know the exact amount you should be drinking google it as it is different).


Exercising regularly

Experts say that 30 mins every day is enough to keep your mind and body in a good shape. Expensive gym memberships are also not necessary. Even quite the contrary a lot of people report that they don’t feel good working out in a gym because they feel people watch them and that they are being judged so the gym can have the opposite effect.


Meditation

It might seem hard to do that but just trying to focus on your breathing for couple of minutes a day can do wonders. It is all about consistency. Do not give up before you see the results.


Visualizations and affirmations

Since you want to achieve or attain something it is important to close the gap between where you are now and where you want to be so in order to do you need to believe you can do it and then take some action. Imagining every detail of what you want to have or achieve or writing down statements in order to rewrite your inner thoughts, is also a crucial part of the process towards any goal.


Even though these sound easy to follow it can be difficult to change your habits. Start with one at a time and keep at it before attempting another one, and do not forget to reward yourself for the good work.
